April 25 Set As Election Day for AMSCD Seat

The Ave Maria Stewardship Community District board has set April 25 as the date for first town election to choose a member of the five-member board by popular vote. The board's Feb. 7 meeting also had a lengthy discussion on the safety of some major roads due to increasing traffic by large construction trucks.

Michael Novak - RIP

Michael Novak, the noted author, philosopher and theologian who called Ave Maria home for most of the last seven years, died Friday morning in Washington, D.C., where he had been teaching at the Catholic University of America. He was 83.

All-State Honors for 6 Donahue Football Players and Team Coach

Quarterback Elias Allan was named the overall best player in the Florida Christian Association of Private and Parochial School's 8-man football league, Rich Scanlon won coach of the year and Donahue players also received six more all-state honors. (above, the team after winning the state championship in December)
