Golf Cart Manual Up for Approval at Nov. 1 AMSCD Meeting

golfcartA manual spelling out rules and regulations for golf cart usage in Ave Maria – literally years in the making – will be up for approval at the Nov. 1 meeting of the board of the Ave Maria Stewardship Community District. The meeting also will have a "landowners' meeting" to elect three members of the five-member board whose terms are expiring.

Donahue Secures Home Field for Playoffs

Quarterback Elias Allan had a big night passing and running Friday, leading the Donahue Academy Shamrocks to a 52-14 win over visiting Cape Coral. With the win, the undefeated Shamrocks secured a first-round playoff bye and clinched home field advantage for all playoff games except the league championship.

Residents Need to Heed Warnings to Not Attract Bears, AMSCD Supervisor Advises

bear125Liesa Priddy, who serves on the boards of both the Ave Maria Stewardship Community District and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commssion told the AMSCD meeting Tuesday that wildlife authorities may need to take stronger action against residents who flout rules about managing trash that attracts bears. The AMSCD meeting also approved electoral maps as well as the preliminary work to proceed with bond offerings.

Obituary: Carmen Rivera, Longtime Ave Maria Resident

Carmen Rivera, who moved to Ave Maria in 2010, passed away Oct. 8 at age 71. Her funeral Mass will be at the Ave Maria Oratory at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15.
