Work Progresses on Gas Station - Opening Now May 1

Pumps are in and work continues at the gas station/convenience store on Ave Maria Blvd. Opening now is expected May 1, about a month behind schedule, said Phil Toye of Automated Petroleum and Energy, which will operate the station. Above, top, pumps being delivered and below, as they are installed.

 Governor Rick Scott will be Ave Maria University's 2013 commencement speaker, the school announced Thursday. Kevin "Seamus" Hasson, founder of the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, will receive an honorary doctorate degree at the commencement exercises May 4. Above, Gov. Scott visiting AMU in 2011.

Maple Ridge: A Turning Point for Ave Maria?

The planned Maple Ridge development in Ave Maria represents the largest outside investment in the town since original construction started about eight years ago. The investment by homebuilder CC Devco in more than 600 acres also will provide some financial benefit to Tom Monaghan and Ave Maria University, part owners of the land.
