Something about the town of Ave Maria seems to appeal lately to French television journalists.
A producer and videographer from a newsmagazine program on the French cable network Canal+ arrived Thursday and will be in town for a week documenting life in Ave Maria. They'll be spending time with Hampton Village residents Dawn and Jim Carletta and their family as well as with a family building a house in Ave Maria and at least one student at AMU.
Producer Aleen Vene says she and her associate, videographer Valerie Lucas (at right, with Ms. Vene on the right), are doing three 30-minute pieces, each of which will focus on a "special community." Ave Maria is the only American town featured, Ms. Vene said.
"All the communities are new ones that we think are being built for the future," she said.
This is the second French television crew to visit Ave Maria in the last few weeks. In late August, journalists from the French network M6 were in town for a different story featuring Ave Maria. (left, the first French TV crew filming in the Queen Mary Pub)
