Ave Maria University has named a Notre Dame fundraising executive, Brian Couch (right), as its new vice president of institutional advancement, AMU President Jim Towey announced Monday.
Mr. Couch, who Mr. Towey said in an email to faculty and staff will start March 29, replaces Kevin Joyce, who announced his resignation in January. He currently is the Senior Director, Annual Giving & Strategic Marketing, at Notre Dame, where he is responsible for its annual fund. Before joining Notre Dame in 2011 he had held a number of posts in sales, marketing and management at large for-profit companies.
Mr. Towey also announced that Stacy Laffere, an associate VP for institutional advancement, will be leaving AMU in May to join her husband, Greg, in Kansas where he has taken a new job after working as a football coach at AMU.
In another change of management responsibilities, Mr. Towey also said that VP for Finance and Administration Bob Farnham will take over oversight for the school's facilities and maintenance department from Executive Vice President Dennis Grace. "I am happy that he [Mr. Grace] now can devote his full attention to his primary responsibilities in enrollment and marketing," Mr. Towey said.
AMU fired its director of admissions, Billee Silva, Feb. 12. No replacement has yet been named for her.
