Ernie Mitchell Receives Knights of Columbus Lifetime Achievement Award

Long-time Ave Maria resident Ernie Mitchell received the Knights of Columbus Lifetime Achievement award Saturday night at the annual dinner of the local Knights council.
The award recognized Mr. Mitchell's more than 60 years as a member of the Knight. His numerous contributions to the Ave Maria community were cited by Grand Knight Jef Ball, Recorder Bob Oshinsky and Fr. Cory Mayer, administrator of the Ave Maria Quasi Parish. Mr. Mitchell, 92, and his wife, Mary, were among the first residents of Ave Maria and both have volunteered countless hours on behalf of the community and students at Ave Maria University.
