54-Year-Old Doesn't Make AMU Basketball Team

Chris Spina, a Bonita Springs realtor, is enrolled full-time at Ave Maria University and lost 80 pounds as he trained before tryouts for the men's basketball team. He did not make the team, but told the Naples Daily News it's been a great experience. Now, "I've got to focus on my studies," he said.

Special All Souls Day High Mass

 A Solemn High Requiem Mass in the Extraordinary Form will be celebrated Nov. 2, All Souls Day. Parish Administrator Fr. Robert Tatman will be the celebrant at the mass, at which the Ave Maria University choir will sing the Requiem Op. 9 by Maurice Durufle.
