Ave Maria Dance Academy owner Karen Ledesma met artist Tim Davis at an event in town about a year ago and knew then that she wanted him to paint something special on the wall of her studio.
The Naples artist recently finished the work, which shows silhouettes of dancers opposite the dance studio's mirrored wall.
"I'm thrilled with it," Mrs. Ledesma said. "I can't see how there can ever be anything in this space but a dance studio now."
Mr. Davis is a native of California, where he learned his craft about 15 years ago. Artistic talent runs in the family -- he is one of seven children who all are working as artists today.
He moved to Naples in 2003 after marrying his wife, Jayma, who grew up in southwest Florida.
His work is in numerous private residences in the area and can also be seen in several retail establishments including the Robb and Stuckey showroom in Naples and the Agostino Furnishings showroom in Bonita Springs. More of his murals and other artwork can be seen at his website here.
The dance studio currently has 105 dancers enrolled, aged from three to 17, as well as 30 young people in the Ave Children's Theater.
The dancers are just beginning to work on their recital, planned for May 21 at Palmetto Ridge High School.
