The Ave Maria town center was full of good cheer and the sights and sounds of Christmas Friday evening at the annual Celebration of Lights.
Residents and visitors enjoyed a variety of food, activities, entertainment -- including the Cypress Palm Middle School choir (left), and -- of course -- a visit from Santa. (right)
This year, for the first time, Ave Maria Development sponsored a contest for the best decorated home in Ave Maria. First prize, which was a $300 gift certificate to Publix, went to the Hubers' home in Emerson Park. In addition to their light display, the Hubers set up a low-power transmitter broadcasting Christmas music as well as the sounds of Santa, who appeared to be moving around inside the house.
Second prize for the best-decorated house went to the Schneiders, also of Emerson Park.
Third prize was awarded to the Jones in Bellera Walk and fourth prize to the Kilpatricks in Hampton Village.
