It is said that "free" is the most powerful word in advertising, and a number of merchants in the Ave Maria area are using it to offer a variety of goods and services at no cost to customers.
American Discount Pharmacy in Immokalee has recently announced a program it calls "Helping Hands," that will provide a free 90-day supply of more than 100 prescription drugs through the end of the year. (Click here for the list of drugs offered.) "It's something we're doing to make it a bit easier for people through the holiday season," said Ron Shimko, a pharmacist who is one of the founders of the pharmacy. The store is located on Main St. in Immokalee, and also has a prescription drop box in the offices of Ave Maria Dentistry.

Coastal Carts is offering residents the free weekend use of a golf cart. Call ahead to 239-936-5676 to reserve one.
Lawyer Robb Klucik has a standing offer to draw up a Catholic Living Will for anyone at no charge.
Ave Maria Chiropractic & Health Store is giving away one free gallon of raw grassfed milk to new customers, and also offers one free supplement with the purchase of three.
Next door, By Way of the Family offers a free scapular with the purchase of two others.
Beckner Jewelry & Repair provides free jewelry cleaning every day, and also gives away either a jar of jewelry cleaner or a watch battery with any new jewelry purchase or jewelry/watch repair.
Both Fitness by Holly and the Ave Maria Dance Academy are offering one free trial class.
