Another big first half propelled the Donahue Academy Shamrocks to their sixth straight win Friday night, a 56-12 blowout against Academy of the Lakes in Land O' Lakes.
The Shamrocks, who have not lost this season, led 48-6 at the end of the first half with strong performances on both offense and defense.
Elias Allan ran for two touchdowns and threw for three. Randy Beidelschies ran for a touchdown and threw for one. Mark Cheffers, Ken Longley, Andrew Scanlan, and JP Allan all caught a touchdown pass. JP Klucik ran for a touchdown.
Mark Cheffers and Uriel Martinez had interceptions, and Thomas Donohue and Andrew Scanlan recovered fumbles.
"This game was won 'in the trenches,' on the line of scrimmage," said Coach Rich Scanlon. "Aidan Kelly, Thomas Donohue, Jimmy Deliso and Sean Doman secured the pocket for our quarterback to pass, and our defense did not give up a first down until the third quarter."
The Shamrocks are back home on the field at North Park for their next game against Cornerstone from Jacksonville.
