Improvement in Bar Passage Rate at Ave Maria School of Law

The percentage of Ave Maria School of Law graduates passing the bar exam in July improved to 66.7 percent this year, a substantial gain from a year ago.
The results put Ave Maria Law in the middle of the pack of 11 Florida law schools, although the number of its graduates who sat for the bar, 36, was far fewer than any other law school in the state.
In the face of a few years of disappointing results -- Ave Maria had the lowest passage rate (47.8 percent) a year ago -- the law school implemented a rigorous program of preparation for taking the bar exam.
The top performing school was the Florida International University College of Law where 87.5 percent passed, followed by the University of Miami and Stetson University with 80.6 percent and 80.5 percent respectively. Ave Maria's rate was the sixth highest.
The Ave Maria School of Law, like Ave Maria University, was founded by Tom Monaghan, but is a separate institution located in North Naples, about 20 miles southwest of the town of Ave Maria.
