The town of Ave Maria is seeing growth unmatched since the town's early years.
Home sales are at a record pace, many current businesses are expanding, others are planning to open later in the year, and extension of the major road Anthem Parkway has finally begun.
Ave Maria Development has reported sales of 206 homes in the first seven months of 2016, and July's sales were up by 60 percent over July, 2015.
Homes were added in all the town's neighborhoods, but most of the growth is in the new Maple Ridge area, where developers announced they hope to start soon on construction of a new 12,000-square-foot amenity center (right). The amenity center will be for the exclusive use of Maple Ridge residents and will include an Olympic-sized lap pool, fitness center, sports courts, a playground, card rooms, and activities room and a billiard room.
The growth of Maple Ridge also prompted work on a new section of Anthem Parkway, which will provide alternate access to Ave Maria Blvd. from Maple Ridge. Ave Maria site plans call for Anthem Parkway to go from south of the Del Webb neighborhood and extend to the east and eventually north of the town center, joining up with Ave Maria Blvd. again by the water park. The phase now under construction, expected to be completed by the end of the year, goes from Ave Maria Blvd. at the Del Webb entrance to Roma St. in Maple Ridge. Other sections will be added in coming years to bring Anthem to intersect Pope John Paul II Blvd. within five years, developers said. Several businesses in town are expanding, and others getting started, to meet increased demand. By Way of the Family, one of Ave Maria's first businesses in the town center, will grow to twice its size and two restaurants, Gino's Trattoria per Tutti and the Pub and Grill at Ave Maria, are also expanding to empty space next door. And new businesses coming include the pre-K and kindergarten Ave International School, a crossfit gym, Dog Gone Cleaners offering pet grooming services and high-end pet food.
