Ave Maria University has announced that Cardinal Seán O'Malley, archbishop of Boston, will deliver the address at this year's graduation ceremonies in May.
This will be Cardinal O'Malley's second time partipating in AMU graduation events. He celebrated the Baccalaureate Mass in the oratory in May, 2009.
In addition to his role with the archdiocese of Boston, to which he was named in 2003, Cardinal O'Malley is a member of a group of eight cardinals who are assisting Pope Francis on reforming the Church's governance and central administration.
Ave Maria University will hold its 13th commencement exercises May 7 in the Tom Golisano Field House. A news release from AMU says it is expecting a record 211 undergraduate students will receive diplomas, as well as 10 Master's and two Ph.D. candidates.
