The Donahue Academy girls basketball team won its first district title Thursday, beating Seacrest 51-48 in the Donahue gym for the Class 2A-District 10 championship.
Monica Williams nailed a 3-point shot with just 10 seconds left in the game to break a 48-48 tie. She then raced down the court to block a potential game-tying shot from Seacrest's Isadora Tasovic, the game's top scorer.
Donahue next plays a regional quarterfinal game at home next Thursday.
