Collier County Commissioner Nance Won't Seek Re-election

Ave Maria will have new representation on the Board of Collier County Commissioners later this year. Current commissioiner Tim Nance announced Tuesdayt that he will not seek re-election.
A news release announcing his decision did not give a reason beyond wanting to spend more time with his family.
Mr. Nance, whose district includes Immokalee and Golden Gate Estates in addition to Ave Maria, was first elected to the board in 2012, unseating Coletta who had held the seat for 12 years. His election created a new majority on the commission when he joined with Commissioners Georgia Hiller and Tom Henning on many key votes. Mr. Henning also is not seeking re-election.
