Donahue Wins to Advance to Semi-Finals

The Donahue Academy Shamrocks dominated their quarter-final football playoff game in Cape Coral Friday night, beating Oasis 56-12.
Dominic Allan led a strong defensive effort with 10 tackles a forced fumble and a sack. He also scored a touchdown on a 20-yard reception. Thomas Donohue had eight tackles, two tackles for loss, two sacks and a blocked punt. Elias Allan completed nine of 22 passes for for 243 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions, and also ran for two touchdowns. Mark Cheffers had an interception and a 30-yard touchdown reception. Andrew Scanlan had touchdown receptions of 15 and 68 yards. Uriel Martinez and Randy Beidelscheis added rushing touchdowns.
"This was an outstanding performance for a state quarterfinal game," said Coach Rich Scanlon. "I am very proud of the effort and leadership displayed tonight. We are excited to head to the Orlando area to play undefeated City of Life in the state semi-finals. We look forward to the challenge."
The semi-final game will be played at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, at City of Life, 2361 Old Hickory Tree Rd., St. Cloud, FL, 34772.
