The Donahue Academy Shamrocks stormed back from last week's loss -- their only defeat this year -- to overpower Academy at the Lakes 52-20 in a first-round playoff game Friday night at North Park in Ave Maria.
The Shamrocks travel to Cape Coral for their next playoff game against Oasis.
Randy Beidelschies had three rushing touchdowns on eight carries for 84 yards. Dominic Allan lead the defense with an interception return for a touchdown and nine tackles, two assists and he combined with Sean Doman for a safety.
"I was really proud of our effort tonight," said Coach Rich Scanlon. "After an emotional game last week, we could have easily been sluggish. However, we had great senior leadership and on a night when we honored our seniors at their last home game, it was fitting that they made sure our team was mentally prepared."
