Eviction Proceedings Started Against Milano's Pizza

Milano's Pizzeria and Eatery in the Ave Maria town center has been closed for much of July and now faces eviction proceedings in court as well as a suit by Collier County for unpaid taxes.

Ave Maria Development, the landlord for all commercial space in the town center, filed suit July 28 to evict Milano's, saying the restaurant owes more than $18,000 in rent and has not responded to requests for payment. Collier County also is suing over non-payment of personal property taxes.

Milano's opened in March, 2012.
