Ave Maria has always had plenty to offer for the soul. Now, three new businesses are focusing on the physical.
Patricia Schwartz (left), who grew up in Immokalee, provides a full suite of physical therapy services at Resultscare at 5080 Annunciation Circle. She specializes in pain treatment, dealing with, among other ailments, arthritis, bursitis, tendinitis, back and neck pain, migraines, Fibromyalgia and carpal tunnel syndrome. After nine years at an orthopedic specialty care center in Bonita Springs, she opened her office in Ave Maria at the end of 2014, drawn by its proximity to where she grew up as well as the faith-based nature of the community, she said. More information at the website www.resultscare.com.
For other medical matters, the Braden Clinic opened early this year in space that had been home to two previous medical offices next to the Ave Maria Montessori school. Dr. Beau Braden (below right) lives in Ave Maria and in addition
to the clinic is also an attending emergency physician at the NCH healthcare system in Naples. The clinic is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. by appointment. Patients need to register first, and forms and information are on their website at www.bradenclinic.com.
Fitness and self-defense are the focus of the Martial Arts Fitness Academy that will opened later this year by Jason Gabauer, a first-degree black belt who is moving his family to Ave Maria, and his business partner Chad Wilbur, a sixt-degree black belt. Mr. Gabauer says the main focus will be on Taekwondo but he will also offer kickboxing, fitness classes and self-defense classes for kids and adults. Plans are to open a permanent facility in the park of commerce by the gas station this summer but Mr. Gabauer also says he hopes to be in temporary space in the town center before then.
