Jim and Jean Dudek (above in their Emerson Park home) have arranged a visit to Ave Maria later this year by the bishop emeritus of the diocese that includes Fatima, Portugal. The Dudeks, who have been to Fatima 17 times and led 11 pilgrimages, will speak Oct. 13 on the The Story and Message of Our Lady of Fatima.

Ave Maria University has named Bishop Frank Dewane of the Diocese of Venice to its Board of Trustees, and also elected Cardinal Adam Maida, former archbishop of Detroit, to the board. The appointment of Bishop Dewane appears to signal a closer relationship between the university and the diocese.
