tsmith-175Donahue Academy senior Tommy Smith has entered an elite club. He has been named a National Merit Scholarship Program finalist, a distinction awarded to less than one percent of U.S. high school graduating seniors.

"This is a huge honor and we congratulate Tommy for his hard work over the past four years," said Donahue Headmaster Gina Code.

Being a finalist qualifies him for one of a number of scholarships underwritten by about 440 independent sponsor organizations and institutions and he will be notified later this spring about the specifics of any scholarship award.
